It is the colorless tran***rent liquid with ether odor, being flammable. In the air, it can form explosive peroxides, and can be miscible in the water, alcohols, ketones, benzene, esters, ethers and hydrocarbons, with the relative density of 0.985 (20/4 ℃), boiling point of 67℃, freezing point of -108 ℃, flash point of -17℃ (open cup), refractive index nD (20 ℃) of 1.4050 and self-ignition point of 610℃.
Usages:
THF is widely used in the resin solvent (tape coating, PVC surface coating, PVC reactor cleaning, removal of PVC film, cellophane coating, plastic printing ink and thermoplastic polyurethane coating); reaction solvent (format reagents, alkyl alkali metal compound and aromatic alkali metal compound, aluminum hydride and boron hydride, steroids and macromolecular organic polymers); chemical intermediate product (polymerization PTMEG and natural flavor enhancer); chromatography solvent (gel permeation chromatography).
